“NO TENEMOS NI IDEA DE HACIA DÓNDE VAMOS”

ECLESALIA, 10/10/20.- Hace unos días volví a leer una oración que desde que la conocí hace un montón de años, me afecta, me reta, me adentra en el silencio y me invita a confiar. Me gusta leerla primero en inglés, idioma en el que fue escrita:

“My Lord God, I have no idea where I am going. I do not see the road ahead of me. I cannot know for certain where it will end. Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think that I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so. But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you. And I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing. I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire. And I know that if I do this you will lead me by the right road though I may know nothing about it. Therefore will I trust you always though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death. I will not fear, for you are ever with me, and you will never leave me to face my perils alone”.

Y luego en mi propio idioma:

“Mi Dios y Señor, no tengo idea de hacia dónde voy. No veo el camino delante de mí. No puedo saber con certeza donde finalizará. Tampoco me conozco realmente a mí mismo y el hecho de creer que estoy siguiendo tu voluntad no significa que realmente lo esté haciendo. Pero creo que el deseo de complacerte hace, de hecho, que te complazca. Espero tener este deseo en todo lo que estoy haciendo. Espero no hacer nunca nada lejos de este deseo. Sé que si actúo así tú me guiarás por el camino recto, aunque no puedo saber nada sobre ello. Por tanto, confiaré siempre aunque pueda parecer que estoy perdido y en sombra de muerte. No temeré, tú estás siempre conmigo y nunca me dejarás solo frente a mis peligros”.
